How To Jailbreak iOS 12 – 12.1.2 With Unc0ver And Install Cydia?
Luckily, the folks over at Redmond Pie published a step-by-step guide. We owe you one, guys.
There are only 8 steps and it’s not complicated so you don’t have to worry about anything… probably. Nevertheless, if there is indeed something that you need to worry about, that’s the risk of harming your device so please do use an extra device instead that’s for jailbreaking purposes, not your daily driver.
With that being said, here are the 8 steps:
Make sure you’re device is on the iOS 12 firmware.
Download the latest unc0ver 3.0.0 IPA.
Download the Cydia Impactor at cydiaimpactor.com.
On your device (iPhone or iPad), make sure Find My iPhone is turned off, there’s no OTA update waiting to be installed in Settings > Storage section (if there is, delete it), and passcode on the device is turned off.
After completing this, connect your device to your computer.
Remember the Cydia Impactor you downloaded? Use that to install the unc0ver jailbreak on your device.
When the unc0ver IPA has finally been sideloaded, on your device, go to Settings > General > Device Management and make sure the profile is trusted for unc0ver app that you just sideloaded.
Go to your device’s Home Screen, launch the unc0ver app, and hit the “Jailbreak” button. You will then have to wait for it to complete.
You will know that you’ve successfully jailbroken your device when it resprings and has Cydia on the Home Screen. If it doesn’t, redo the whole thing.
