iOS 12 Jailbreak: Alibaba Security Engineer Shows Off iOS 12.1.2 Exploit
Gather around, jailbreak fans, because we have something that you might be interested with. It’s about the iOS 12 jailbreak.
So what about the iOS 12 jailbreak? Well, this time around, Min(Spark) Zheng (@SparkZheng), a prominent figure in the jailbreak community and a security engineer at Alibaba presented via Twitter an iOS 12.1.2 exploit.
The (Mach) Post-Oriented Programming Attack Proof Series
Since the start of the new year, Zheng has begun this “(Mach) Post-Oriented Programming Attack Proof” series. Redmond Pie reports that this is probably going to form the basis of a presentation at a security conference somewhere in the world. At the moment, the security engineer has made two posts.
The first one, (Mach) Post-Oriented Programming Attack Proof 1, was posted earlier last week. It was about a local privilege escalation for the macOS 10.14.2.

The second one and also the latest, (Mach) Post-Oriented Programming Attack Proof 2, was posted later last week. This post was about an iOS 12.1.2 exploit. As reported by Redmond Pie, Zheng has attached a number of command line screenshots as well as an iOS-powered device showing iOS 12.1.2 (Build 16C101) in operation running on an iPhone 6s.

The jailbreak community has been waiting for months now for an iOS 12 jailbreak public release and are probably getting impatient. However, with the second post made Zheng and his reputation as one of Alibaba’s most respected and well-known engineers, it has reaffirmed the community’s hope for a potential iOS 12 jailbreak public release. And in this case, it might be an iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak.
Moreover, seeing this “(Mach) Post-Oriented Programming Attack Proof” that he has started, we’re all looking forward to the third one – if there is one. Assuming that there is, what will it be about? And if there is a third one, will there be a fourth one as well? How many posts will there be?
