The iOS 12 is already out and many iOS device users will surely want to install it and try the new features it conveys. But then, in case they aren’t satisfied and they wanted to go back to iOS 11.4.1, they are lucky because they can still downgrade.

  • A working PC or Mac with the up-to-date version of iTunes installed.
  • The iOS 11.4.1 IPSW file for your particular iOS device.
  • A knowledge that you can only downgrade to iOS 11.4.1 from iOS 12 as the Cupertino-based tech company is no longer signing any other firmware.

Step-By-Step Procedure On How To Downgrade iOS 12 To iOS 11.4.1

Now that you already know the things to prepare to get started in downgrading your device running on iOS 12 to iOS 11.4.1, here is the step-by-step procedure on how you can go back to the previous iOS version:

Step 1: The first to do is to make sure that you’ve already downloaded the iOS 11.4.1 IPSW file as what was mentioned above.

Step 2: The next thing to do is using your iOS device you should head to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and make sure that the feature is inactivated. Bear in mind that this is very significant.

Step 3: On your PC or Mac, open iTunes and connect your iOS handset. It is worth noting that you will have to put your device into DFU mode.

Step 4: With your iOS device already in DFU mode and back in iTunes, hold down the Option key on a Mac or if you’re using a hold down the Shift key and tick on the Restore iPhone/iPad button. After doing that, you will be asked to choose your IPSW file which is the one you have downloaded earlier.
