iOS 11.4.1 SEP And Baseband Confirmed Not Compatible With iOS 11.3.1; Electra Jailbreak Update Incompatible
The jailbreak community has received positive news in the past days but a negative update has arrived. It is now confirmed that the iOS 11.4.1 Secure Enclave Processor (SEP) and baseband are not compatible with iOS 11.3.1, implying that recently released iOS 11.3.1 Electra jailbreak can’t be used to iOS 11.4.1 jailbreak.
According to Redmond Pie, it is now confirmed that the iOS 11.4.1 Secure Enclave Processor (SEP) and baseband aren’t well-matched with of iOS 11.3.1. It is worth noting that if the iOS 11.4.1 baseband and (SEP) were discovered backward compatible with that of iOS 11.3.1, then the handsets running on iOS 11.4.1 that have the SHSH2 blobs saved for iOS 11.3.1, are capable to downgrade their firmware to iOS 11.3.1. This can be done through the use of FutureRestore.
In this case, they will be left with the stock version of iOS 11.3.1 which could be jailbroken using the iOS 11.3.1 Electra jailbreak. Unluckily, this isn’t the case for the iOS 11.4.1 jailbreak.
But despite that, it is still good to know that it is still possible to downgrade or upgrade to iOS 11.4 beta 3 if you own an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. After upgrading or downgrading you can now liberate your handset through Electra jailbreak. This is still possible since the Cupertino-based tech giant is still signing that beta firmware.
So if you’re on iOS 11.4.1 as of now and wanted to try jailbreaking your device, you can restore your well-suited iPhone to iOS 11.4 beta 3 through the use iTunes. Remember, that this is only possible until Apple’s signing window still open for 11.4 beta 3.
This may seem to be a bad news in the jailbreaking community but for those who have the aforementioned devices that can be downgraded to iOS 11.4 beta 3; they still have the chance to liberate their handsets. Always stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated about the happenings in the jailbreak scene.
