iOS 11.3 Jailbreak Update: New iOS 11.3 0day Bug Might Lead To Potential Jailbreak
As we all know, there isn’t anything groundbreaking yet to be discovered in the iOS 11.3 when it comes to bugs. This particular predicament isn’t looking good for the jailbreak community seeing as the clamor for a new jailbreak tool has been on the rise ever since the software was released. However, it seems like the wait is going to be on the shorter end as recent updates reveal that Apple has not patched a new 0day exploit in the current version of the firmware, which many believe could lead to a potential jailbreaking tool.
Engineer Min Zheng of Alibaba, one of the largest e-commerce conglomerates in the world, shared that when Apple moved iOS 11.3 into production from a pre-release state, they failed to patch a new 0day bug. This particular bug was discovered by Zheng himself, which he then made available through Twitter.
In the tweet, Zheng attached a screenshot showing the 0day bug undisturbed by the current update. Aside from this, users were also able to indicate the Exception Type and Exception Subtype of the said bug. In addition to this, it was also clearly stated what the bug was found in iOS 11.3.
Seeing as this is an important announcement, Zheng was bombarded with questions by excited fans inside the jailbreak community. However, he did not give details as to what he plans on doing with the exploit or if he intends to release it into the public domain for developers to use as a base for a potential iOS 11.3 jailbreak tool.
Though this development might be a step towards an official jailbreak tool, it still remains to be seen if developers will be able to use the bug as Zheng still has not revealed his plans for the newly discovered exploit nor any additional information about it. However, in the case he does, it will most certainly be a big step towards the jailbreak community’s goal of discovering the iOS 11.3 jailbreak tool.
