iMac 2019: Release Date, Redesign And Significant Display-Performance Upgrades
One of the highly anticipated devices expected to be released this year is a new iMac or the iMac 2019. For this article, we will be reviewing what to expect from the said all-in-one Macintosh desktop computer.
When Will It Be Released?
Next week, Apple is reportedly hosting its spring event at the 25th. It will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino California.
Although it was back in June 2017 during WWDC that Apple updated the iMac, there are some speculations that the Cupertino-based tech company could release the iMac at the upcoming March 2019 event. Whether that’s true or not, it’s hard to say. However, the best bet coined by many is still in June at WWDC 2019.
It Will Have A Makeover?
Back in 2017, there was a rumor that Apple was planning to redesign the 2018 iMac. What kind of redesign? The details have become blurry since then. The line between what fans want to see and the possible redesigns have mixed together.
Nevertheless, one of the most popular suggestions is removing the hard drive option from the iMac in order to free up space inside the machine. This is return will allow for a slimmer chassis.
A Better Screen?
Back in July 2018, Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities has published a research note for investors. As noted by a report, one of the things expected/predicted to come was an iMac with “significant display-performance upgrades.”
As for the “display-performance upgrades”, reports have speculated or concluded that one of it could be True Tone which first came to the iPad Pro and then to the MacBook Pro. There was also a possibility of the increase in pixel size. However, the 27-inch iMac already boasts a 5K display and the 21-inch model a 4K display.
The Other Details
As we’ve mentioned earlier, the line between what fans want to see and the possible redesigns have mixed together. This also applies to the other rumors surrounding the said device. So for this part, we will be handpicking the details or rumors that we, 73Buzz, believe or concluded aren’t too heavily influenced by the “what we want to see“.
In terms of processor, Intel’s Coffee Lake i5 and i7 which have 6-core options are one of the possible candidates. If this doesn’t happen, Apple may choose to use its own processors. The thing is, the currently available MacBook Pro and iMac Pro already uses an Apple-designed co-processor.
As if for the things, there were rumors that the iMac 2019 will get a touch-sensitive display, Face ID, and gaze tracking. And lastly, there’s a Touch Bar.
