Houdini Semi-Jailbreak Beta 3 With iOS 11.3.1 Support Finally Released
If you’ve been following the status of the Houdini iOS 11.3.1 semi-jailbreak tool from Abraham Masri’s Twitter account, you would know that he promised to deliver it this week to which he eventually did. But before we go into details about the Houdini Beta 3 (for iOS 11 to 11.3.1), let’s do a little review a few weeks prior to its release.
The Road To The Houdini Update
Last May 8, 2018, Masri posted on Twitter featuring an iPad running on Houdini Beta 3. On the post was a 4-minute video where he wrote some details that it isn’t available yet, the update allows users to remove Houdini (stock iOS), and that parts of the video have been cut as resprings took too long.
Then on June 1st, a few weeks later, he made an announcement via Twitter. On his post, he greeted everyone with a “happy pride month” in celebration for the LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots which occurred at the end of June 1969, and then promised to do his best to deliver the updated Houdini next week.
On June 4th, the day before the release, Masri posted a teaser on Twitter. On the post was a screenshot showing a device with the completed Houdini Beta 3.

Finally on June 5th, the released day, Masri posted two things regarding the jailbreak. First was he warned users that the exploit in the screenshot (referring to the screenshot) is not very powerful, and though it allows Houdini to write anything outside the sandbox, it does not read it.
The second post was the link for the official web page of the Houdini Beta 3. Masri also noted that it requires a developer account.
