GTA 6 Rumor: Sony Paid Huge Money To Secure One Month Exclusive

6:42 PM

The gaming community is waiting for Sony’s next generation hardware. Given that Sony has been tight-lipped about the details regarding the next gaming console (even the name is still unknown but we will refer to it as “PlayStation 5”), that hasn’t stopped details about it from coming out.

For this article, we will be discussing Sony’s plan with the PS5 and the long-awaited Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI / GTA 6).

The Leak

Someone who claims to be a third-party European developer working on a PS5 launch title published at a post at Pastebin talking about leaks related to the PS5 and the games it will launch with. The games mentioned include GTA 6, Battlefield Bad Company 3, and a Harry Potter game.

The leaker also noted that the information that he/she would like to share are 99 percent correct. The reason why he/she said 99 percent is because there’s a chance that some incremental hardware changes may occur.

Regarding GTA 6, this is what the leaker wrote:

Gta 6 Holiday 2020 most probably, not hearing anything ps4 related (hearing that Sony is paying huge money to secure 1 month time exclusive for ps5). Been hearing rumors about Miami and New York,so 2 big cities, but im not sure if thats 100% true

Let’s try to break down what the leakster said.

First is “Holiday 2020“. Does this mean GTA 6 will be launched in late 2020? Looking at previous rumors, reports suggests a 2020 to 2022 lanch date.

Second is Miami and New York. Looking back at previous rumors, it was said to take place in Miami and South America.

Third is that “Sony is paying huge money to secure 1 month time exclusive for ps5“. If this is true and Sony will be granted a 1-month exclusive by Rockstar Games, this will be a big win for Sony as they because the GTA franchise is one of the most successful franchises.

Interestingly enough, there was a rumor back in March 2019 that Sony is in talks to buy Take-Two Interactive which is the parent company of Rockstar Games. Sony then denied the rumor when it started to get so much attention. Coincidence?

What do you think? Are they true? Tell us in the comment section below.
