All the fans of Game of Thrones out there, here’s the latest update on your favorite show. As per the latest entertainment news, the makers of the much-acclaimed hit series has finally confirmed its return for the GOT Season 8.

According to The Guardian, the fans will have to wait for a year as Game of Thrones will be reportedly returning in 2019. However, that’s not all. There’s more to the fans’ disappointment. The latest entertainment news has revealed that the upcoming final series will have only six episodes, unlike the previous seasons that had ten episodes each.

HBO has reported that D.B. Weiss, David Nutter, David Benioff and Miguel Sapochnik will be directing Game of Thrones season 8. It was earlier reported that the makers of the series had planned to skip 2018 to give it more time. They supposedly wanted the final season to be a grand and unforgettable one. Hence, they wanted to make the best out of it by taking more time.

If reports are to be believed, the episodes of the upcoming series will be longer compared to the previous ones. Last year, actress Sophie Turner revealed that the final season will return only in 2019, however, this is the first time HBO has officially confirmed it.

Although the final release date for Game of Thrones season 8 is not yet revealed, the fans couldn’t stop building their own theories. People have been wondering what will happen to their favorite characters in the final season.

In the other news, GOT fans who are disappointed with the delayed release of the show, here’s something to cheer up. The Royal Mail will reportedly issue a new line of Game of Thrones postage stamps for 10 of our favorite characters.

The characters include “Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Eddard Stark (Sean Bean), Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg), and Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance)”, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
