Everything You Need About Game Of Thrones Prequel 'The Long Night'
The final season of the HBO series Game Of Thrones is yet to hit the airwaves, but the channel has already started working on a prequel to the much-loved series. Over the last few weeks, a lot has been speculated and written about the prequel to Game Of Thrones. Today, we are going to share with you some interesting detail about the series which has got all the fans of Game Of Thrones super excited much before its official launch.
So far what we know is that the prequel is tentatively titled The Long Night which will tell a White Walker origin story set thousands of years before Game of Thrones during the Age of Heroes. Recently, the teaser synopsis of the prequel was released, which read: “Only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, it’s not the story we think we know.”
George R.R. Martin, the creator of Games Of Thrones, previously revealed that a team of writers is working on five scripts. However, Casey Bloys, President of Programming at HBO, has said that the network only expects to bankroll one spin-off. But if the prequel hits a home run upon its release, you never know the channel changes its mind and goes on to bankroll more prequels.
With no official announcement of its premiere date, we know we will have to wait really long to get a glimpse of its trailer. The team is planning to roll cameras in 2019, so 2020 is the year when we can perhaps see the series. It’s a long wait. Isn’t it?
Talking about the cast, Naomi Watts has been finalized to lead the charge. Besides her, there are going to be several very strong female characters, according to Casey Bloys. Josh Whitehouse will also play an important role. Denise Gough and Sheila Atim are also in buzz to appear in the pilot.
