Goran Visnjic To Star Alongside Harvey Keitel in Marco Pontecorvo's Fatima
The upcoming Hollywood film Fatima, which is currently being shot across various locations in Lisbon, Portugal, has yet another addition to its impressive cast. Popular Croatian-American actor Goran Visnjic, known for films like New York, I Love You (2009), The Counsellor (2013) and Midnight Sun (2014), is all set to join forces with Harvey Keitel. The film tells the true story of Our Lady of Fatima.
Talking more about the storyline of the movie, it revolves around three Portuguese children at the peak of World War I. Legend has it that these three children saw apparitions of the Virgin Mary, who shared with them three secrets. When their family members, followed by government officials, came to know about the entire episode, they made every possible effort to shut the children up and stop them from sharing the messages that had the power to change the world. However, when the Roman Catholic Church came to know about this, they validated the children’s visions, establishing Fatima as a pilgrimage site.
Italian cinematographer and film director Marco Pontecorvo, who has earlier worked on such projects as Rome, The Last Legion, Letters to Juliet and Game of Thrones, has been entrusted with the responsibility of helming the film. Apart from sitting on the director’s chair, he will also produce the movie along with Rose Ganguzza, Natasha Howes, Richard I. Lyles and James T. Volk and Origin Entertainment. Besides Harvey Keitel and Goran Visnjic, Fatima also has Sonia Braga and Joaquin De Almeida on its star cast.
If we talk about Goran Visnjic’s previous work, the actor boasts of many well-received American and British movies and television series. In the United States, he made his presence felt with his role as Dr. Luka Kovač on the NBC television series ER. The actor is currently seen on Timeless and NBC as Garcia Flynn.
