GoPro has been experiencing a rough stage for the last few years. But then with the arrival of GoPro Hero 7, the American tech giant will be making a comeback as this device was labeled as the firm’s most advanced action camera.

GoPro Hero 7 Specs

The GoPro Hero 7 features similar dimensions as the GoPro Hero 6 and it is equipped with a touchscreen LCD and is waterproof. Also, there’s no enhancement to frame-rates and resolution of the camera. Moreover, the GoPro Hero 7 Black is capable of taking 4K videos at 60fps.

The premium Hero 7 Black is armed with a 12MP camera sensor and is engineered by a GP1 processor. The American action camera maker bumped up the RAM so that the device can have support for live streaming, smooth video stabilization, and 4K video shooting that is up to 60fps. Aside from that, the GoPro Hero 7 Black can shoot 2.7K footage at 120fps, and 1080p videos at 240fps. It is worth noting that GoPro has also tweaked the interface to allow the users to swipe left and right so that they can quickly switch between the shooting modes.

In addition, the cheaper GoPro Hero 7 White and Silver models are equipped with a smaller 10-megapixel lens. Both of them also lack the GoPro Hero 7 Black’s custom GP1 processor. The Silver model can shoot 4K videos at 30fps while the White version can capture 1440 footage at 60fps. Lastly, all of the three new models can capture and store vertical videos and photos.

GoPro Hero 7 Black Exciting Features

In case you are wondering why, GoPro Hero 7 is labeled as the company’s most advanced camera; then, the following features can surely justify that. This action camera has built-in wind-noise filters and smile detection. Also, one of the main highlights of the GoPro Hero 7 Black is “Hypersmooth stabilization.” It functions even underwater and is also wind-resistant at any speed rate.

Aside from that, GoPro Hero 7 Black also features TimeWarp, which combines the stabilization to time-lapses to record fast time-lapse videos. The outcome of this feature is similar to Hyperlapse. There is also this new “SuperPhoto” mode that is akin to the Smart HDR feature in the newest iPhones. It spontaneously determines when to arrange high dynamic range (HDR) and noise-reduction capabilities.

Last but definitely not the least; the GoPro Hero 7 Black also makes it very easy to live stream footage on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and Vimeo. The users can live stream videos through the GoPro’s own application without demanding any extra third-party software. Nonetheless, the streaming is limited to 720p resolution. For some reference, Nick Woodman stated that it was made possible through the use of the custom GP1 chip.

GoPro Hero 7 Price

As for the price, the GoPro Hero 7 White is carrying a price tag of $199, the Silver model is priced at $299, and the premium Black version is tagged at $399. Though it may seem to be pricey, the specs improvements can justify it.

GoPro has started accepting the pre-orders for the new GoPro Hero 7 cameras. These action cams are expected to hit the market shelves on September 27 around the world, which is a perfect timing for the holiday shopping season.
