Google’s Pixel line is known to be one of the mainstays in the smart electronics department for a while now and recently, the company rebranded the operating system Android Wear as Wear OS as a significant move for the company’s future in the current race for smart devices.

In the hardware department, Google launched Pixel gadgets such as the Pixel Phone, Pixel earbuds, and Pixelbooks. The current boundary for the Pixel line that they could work on would be in the wearable department and it makes sense if they push forward in the smartwatches territory within the recent months.

For a market that is dominated by Apple Watches, Google will need all the help they could get for building the best wearable that they could get to compete with Apple. In this regard, Google will use Qualcomm’s new chipset for its pixel smartwatch which will power up the company’s new generation smartwatches that aim to match the supremacy of the Apple Watch.

The two companies are working for a design of a new chip that will be fitted to the new wearables. The former chipset seen in most of the smartwatches which is the Snapdragon 2100 will be replaced by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 3100 which is a quad-core design and will use ARM Cortex A7 architecture and Adreno 304 GPU. The chipmaker confirmed that the chipset will be present in devices this fall and will get LTE, GPS, WiFI and Bluetooth for connectivity while pedometer, heart rate sensors and detecting stress levels will help to monitor the health and fitness section.

Also, Google Pixel Watch might provide new features in the security section. In the past versions, smartwatches were protected by a personal pin but the new device might add something similar to an advance biometric measures like a fingerprint scanner or facial recognition. These features are not yet confirmed but it would be a good addition to the device.

A new setup with an integrated power management circuit in the processor called Blackghost will help the system to save up battery life. This configuration will also help the adjustments that will be made in the voice command responses without power up completely the device. With these enhancements, the device is expected to run more hours than the other smartwatches in the market.

Google also could get us 3 versions of the pixel watch under the codename Ling, Triton, and Sardine. The versions of the watches may come to us in different sizes and might come with a cellular feature.

The company’s goal seems to be looking for practical uses for their smartwatch. The updated Google Assistant will be one of the highlights of the Pixel Watch. A smarter version is expected and more reliable suggestions will be present once this device hit the road. The company will sure the rebranded Android Wear which is now called Wear OS. The wearable will also allow the user to control smart home devices.

We might see the Pixel smart devices side-by-side on October 4th and according to a reliable tip in Twiter by Evan Blass, “Besides the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and second-gen Pixel Buds, a reliable source tells me  — with high confidence — that Google’s fall hardware event will also introduce a Pixel-branded watch.”
