Google Pixelbook 2 With Slimmer Bezels Might Be Launched This Fall Alongside Pixel 3
The tech company Google is expected to introduce a number of devices this coming October. Among these are the second-generation Pixel Buds, Pixel 3 and 3 XL as well as a Pixel-branded Wear OS smartwatch. Now, the second-generation Pixelbook seems to be added to the list.
According to Android Police, the popular device leaker Evan Blass just tweeted earlier today in his @evleaks account. He mentioned that the company is preparing to unveil the second-generation of its Chrome OS flagship this fall. This refreshed device will be part of the company’s fall 2018 hardware lineup.
Add to this fall hardware lineup a second-generation Pixelbook, with smaller bezels, scheduled to ship before the end of the year.

This new second-gen device might be launched at this event, and if so, the shipping will start before this year ends. To recall, the original Pixelbook got shipped a few weeks after its announcement in early October 2017 and was considered one of the most interesting products from the company. The model versions i5 with 128GB and 256GB began shipping within a few weeks. Then, the higher model version i7 with 512GB storage started shipping last January.
There is not much information given about this Pixelbook 2. However, Blass wants us to take note that an area will be improved. This will be the slimmer bezels surrounding the display. This change is welcoming since the bezels on the original Pixelbook were too big making it one of the not-so-good parts of the product.
Then, this improved bezels being mentioned is reasonable enough because these are very helpful to grab the edges of the device if in tablet mode. The Pixelbook offers a tablet mode feature. The Android apps and tablet mode is being focused on the Chrome OS, so these features will likely be seen for the upcoming Pixelbokas well. So far, the device is currently still the best Chrome OS device on the market.
