Google Pixel Watch Codenamed ‘Medaka’ Will Likely Launch Alongside Pixel 3 Lite, Pixel 3 Lite XL
This year of the earth pig could be the year the tech company Google will release the highly-anticipated Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL. It seems that this year could also be the time we get to see Google Pixel Watch as well.
According to TheAndroidSoul, a few codenames for Google products were just spotted. It said to be not featuring notch. This means that these products could be the two smartphones and the watch. These codenames appeared on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) website.

For those who aren’t aware, this website is a development platform for a wide array of devices with different form factors. These codenames are fish-based “salmon” and “medaka,” which is the rumored codename of the Google Pixel Watch. These names were also revealed on Twitter.
The previously reported codenames “Bonito” and “Sargo” are confirmed to be introduced this year. All of this means that there will be four new Google products coming. The identity of these products, “Bonito” and “Sargo,” is speculated to be Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL. Some claimed that those codenames could be for the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.
The release of the anticipated watch has been delayed for quite some time now. This could be the company working hard to differentiate the smartwatch from the other major players in the same field, like the Apple Watch and the Samsung Galaxy Watch.
Recently, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just approved the filing of Google’s parent company Alphabet for an electrocardiogram scanner. This scanner is usually found only in its Verily Study Watch. The ECG monitoring happens to be the highlight feature of the recently released Apple Watch Series 4. This could mean that the next Pixel watch will also have this technology.
