As the next flagship smartphone of the company, Google Pixel 3 is one of the devices that everyone is eagerly waiting for this year. Because of the excitement surrounding the smartphone, it seems like Google is planning a bombshell for its launch.

Android P to debut on Google Pixel 3?

Reports say that there is a strong chance that the Google Pixel 3 will be getting the Android P first. This means that upon release, the Pixel 3 is already loaded with the latest Android version.

After all, Google is already on the final stages in the development of the Android P. This was after a final beta preview called Beta 4 was released for testing, according to NDTV. The beta version is said to be made available for the already released Pixel phones, according to XDA Developers.

The beta version can also be accessed on non-Pixel phones. Among the phones that can do this include the Nokia 6.1, OnePlus 6, Sony Xperia XZ2 and Vivo X21.

There are credible reasons why Google would put Android P on the Pixel 3. For one, the company needs a strong selling point for the smartphone, considering the lukewarm reception for its predecessor. By putting this year’s Android update in the phone first, buyers will be more likely to purchase it.

Furthermore, the release window for the two largely coincides with each other. Android P should be released to the public in the next few months. Android Oreo will have been the current OS update by August so it would be reasonable to expect its release soon. The Pixel 3, meanwhile, could be officially launched in an October Google event.
