Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL: What Features We Expect To See In The Upcoming Flagships
The tech company Google is already expected to launch the highly anticipated smartphones Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL next month. These devices are the company’s third direct attempt at a flagship smartphone. This is after the Nexus lineup got discontinued.
According to Wccftech, the company integrated several features present on the smartphones of the Taiwanese company HTC on the Pixel lineup. This happened after the company acquired half of the latter’s assets. So, these upcoming devices will surely feature dual camera setups at the front, which were seen on the HTC U11 Eye and HTC U12+.
In the photography department, the interesting part of this dual camera setup is the device can differentiate the photo’s foreground from the background when the depth of field is accurately adjusted. Even if the reports of Pixel 3 XL did not indicate a 3D facial recognition feature, many are still hopeful about it.
Then, the single rear camera still remains unchanged over their predecessors for the upcoming Pixel lineup. The company is expected to improve the problem of the rear camera of the Pixel 2, which is the tendency to lose out on zoom regardless of how excellent the software is.
The Pixel Visual Core plays an even more important feature for the next lineup. This chip features an ARM Cortex A53 core clocking at 700Mhz. It is manufactured on TSMC’s 28HPM process to work best at extremely short bursts of high-wattage. This chip can go back to its restive state easily making it a strong point for the company.
The return of Active Edge is also going to be expected. This feature debuted with a lot of functionalities on HTC’s smartphones, such as the user can control the turning on silent mode. Then, several reports on the Google Pixel 3 XL pointed out its wireless charging support.
