Promoted as India’s first zom-com, Saif Ali Khan’s Go Goa Gone was one of the most successful films of 2013, which introduced audiences to Indianized zombies. The Raj & DK directorial was appreciated for its taut direction, engaging concept and a well-told story bolstered by riveting performances by the lead cast. Talks about a sequel to the successful film have hit headlines many times in the past. But now Saif Ali Khan, who played the hilarious Boris in the movie, has confirmed that Go Goa Gone 2 is indeed in the works.

Confirming the sequel, Saif told a daily that the director duo Raj and DK has come up with an exciting premise and they are currently working on the script. “We are doing Go Go Gone 2. It’s an exciting idea and I’ve really liked it. I will return as Boris in the sequel. But this time, I’ll be on a different mission. Raj and DK have found an interesting premise for the second installment, which is in sync with the first part. They are currently writing the script,” he said.

Apart from Saif, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Puja Gupta and Anand Tiwari were also seen portraying significant roles in Go Goa Gone. So, when asked if the next installment would retain any actors from the original cast, Saif nodded in affirmation. “The other characters played by Kunal Khemu and Vir Das will also be a part of it. We start filming next January.”

Talking about Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming project, the actor will shortly be seen in Netflix original Sacred Games, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and starts streaming from 6th July. Besides, he is also awaiting the release of his much-delayed film Baazaar. The National award-winning actor is currently shooting for Anand L Rai’s next untitled film, which is being helmed by Navdeep Singh of NH10 (2014) fame.
