Game Of Thrones Fans, Rejoice; HBO Drops Premiere Date For Season 8

After a long wait of months, the final season of the enormously hit American fantasy drama series Game of Thrones has locked a date for its grand premiere. To be aired on HBO, Game of Thrones season 8 will hit the airwaves on April 14, 2019, confirmed the channel in an over one minute long House of Stark-centric tease just before the debut of True Detective season 3 on the network. It will be nearly 20 months since we last saw it on our television screens.

If you reside in India and have been waiting to catch the final season of the series for months on end now, you will be able to watch the grand premiere on April 15, 2019. You can either go to Star World or download Hotstar on your mobile phone to feast your eyes on Game of Thrones season 8. If we look back in time, we know that HBO premiered the episodes of the series consecutive weeks. In case the channel follows the same pattern this year also, then the finale of the series will be beamed on May 19, 2019.

Also, with only six episodes in store, the season 8 of Game of Thrones is going to be the shortest amongst all the seasons that have come out in the past. There are also unconfirmed reports claiming that each episode of the final season of the show will have a runtime of one and a half hour. After the final season of the series concludes its run in May, fans will be waiting for GoT prequel, starring Namoi Watts. The sequel will be helmed by SJ Clarkson from the script written by show creator George R. R. Martin and Jane Goldman.
