Forget Surface Pro 5, New Surface Pro 6 Coming Next Year
Tech fans who are excited about the release of the Surface Pro 5 will be disappointed with the news that Microsoft will be moving on. The good news, however, is the fact that the company has already begun work on the Surface Pro 6.
Latest Surface Pro 6
Microsoft’s designers are already hard at work on the Surface Pro 6, according to the Verge. The device will present a big departure from the look of predecessors in the product line as it will be “heavily redesigned.” Not much is known about the Surface Pro 6, known internally as “Carmen,” but one possible feature is the integration of the new 8th-generation Intel Core processors.
But there is one potential next Surface Pro feature that got the attention of pundits: the stylus pen. The patents that Microsoft registered seem to indicate a stylus whose tip retracts when it touches a flat surface, according to Tech Radar. A coil will then be compacted, causing a small vibration from inside the pen.
There is no official release date for the Surface Pro 6 yet. Most reports, however, indicate that it will not be seen until the middle of 2019.
What happened to the Surface Pro 5?
With Microsoft officially announcing Surface Pro 6, consumers are left wondering what happened to the long-rumored Surface Pro 5. Microsoft has not commented at all. It may be the case that the corporation abandoned the plan for its release.
Other Microsoft news
Apart from the Surface Pro 6, Microsoft is also said to be readying the release of another tablet device. Rumored for release, the project called Andromeda is going to produce a dual-screen device that can still be placed inside pockets.
