With other tech companies like Samsung in the middle of developing their own foldable smartphone products, it looks like a foldable iPhone is also coming. With this news, Apple has finally thrown its hat into the ring in what is known as the next big tech race in the smartphone era.

Apple’s Foldable iPhone

The foldable smartphone is definitely in the works, according to Value Walk. There is no pointing out, however, as to what stage in development the exciting model is. This is why pundits point out that it may take two more years before the phone could land in stores.

This is not the first time that news of Apple developing a foldable iPhone reached the press. A patent for the technology was already filed as early as 2016. The question now is when the Cupertino, California-based corporation will start selling it. Given the massive head start major rival Samsung has in the foldable smartphone race, Apple has to work twice as fast as the South Korean company.

Apple’s new 6.1 inch LCD iPhone

In other relevant iPhone news, it looks like the long-rumored 6.1-inch mid-range iPhone dubbed as iPhone 9 is all but confirmed. Third party case maker Ghostek is already manufacturing accessories for the said new iPhone. Several leaks have made its way to the Internet in the past few days, verifying that there is, at least, one iPhone that will be released before the year ends.

The leaks indicate that Apple indeed got rid of the home button and Touch ID. The bezels around the screen of the 6.1-inch iPhone 9 are also a bit wider than the most recent iPhone update. This mid-range smartphone from Apple will be released in the summer, according to BGR.

Are you excited to get your hands on the foldable iPhone when it gets released? What do you think will be its most exciting feature? Comment below so we can discuss!
