Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding Join Forces To Headline 'Last Christmas'
Christmas is a couple of months away, but here we bring loads of details on the forthcoming Christmas-themed romance, Last Christmas. It has just been confirmed that Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) have come together to topline Last Christmas, which is being touted as the next big holiday romance flick. To be bankrolled by Universal, the movie will be helmed by Paul Feig, whose latest offering A Simple Favor hit screens on September 14.
The makers are trying their best to keep every possible detail about the project under the wraps. But from what we hear, Last Christmas is set in London around Christmas time. Its screenplay has been written by Oscar-winning writer Emma Thompson and renowned English playwright Bryony Kimmings. Apart from calling the shots, director Feig will also produce the flick for his Feigco Entertainment, alongside Jessie Henderson. Though the makers are yet to announce any release date for the film, we can just imagine it will roll into cinemas during the holiday season of Christmas next year, maybe.
Clarke shot to fame after essaying the role of Daenerys Targaryen on the internationally popular HBO series Game of Thrones. But since the successful show is drawing towards its conclusion with the last season set to premiere early next year, it makes all the sense that the actress has started looking out for other opportunities in Hollywood. Clarke most recently was seen on the big screen in the Ron Howard-directed space film, Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018).
Henry Golding, on the other hand, has also started spreading wings in Hollywood. He won a lot of praises for his outstanding performance as Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians (2018). The film garnered good reviews and is still running successfully in many theatres across the globe. Talking about his last big screen outing, he was most recently seen in Feig’s mystery thriller A Simple Favor as Sean Townsend.
