Electra Jailbreak Tool For iOS 11.3.1 Going Straight For Public Release
The Electra jailbreak of iOS 11.3.1 only has 3 copies and will go straight to public release – there won’t be a public beta testing or a developer build. This information has been announced by CoolStar via Twitter.
Last June 18, 2018, CoolStar made an announcement via Twitter that the Electra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak only has 3 copies. There won’t be a public beta testing or a developer build – only a final release.
With this, what CoolStar is basically saying is that there won’t be any beta testing to try out if the said jailbreak works or not, and that there won’t a developer build because there would be no point if there is already. So with the public release, everyone will be able to use the jailbreak on its final release.
In addition to that, CoolStar notes that those (the developers) who plans to update their tweaks for Electra early are recommended to get an iOS 11.2.1 device until then.
So What Are These 3 Copies?
Well, Pwn20wnd, another well-known figure in the jailbreak community, posted a reply on CoolStar’s announcement regarding the “3 copies”. According to him, the 3 copies basically meant are from CoolStar, nullpixel, and himself.
Speaking of nullpixel, he has also teased some screenshots via Twitter on a working Cydia application. He congratulated CoolStar for the good work on the bug, and Pwn20wnd “great car to exploit it”. Aside from that, nullpixel has also confirmed that the team is waiting on a rootFS remount from Jonathan Levin.
Will Not Use The APFS 0day
The following day, CoolStar announced that for the iOS 11.3.1 public jailbreak, he won’t be using his APFS 0day. This is because SparkZheng has already provided another way to remount it, and they will be using it once it’s ready. He also added that there is no sense in burning 2 APFS remount methods on one jailbreak.
