Eiza Gonzalez Teams Up With Dwayne Johnson On The Cast Of 'Fast and Furious' Spinoff
Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez, who rose to fame for her role in the American horror series From Dusk till Dawn: The Series (2014–2016), is set to join forces with Hollywood biggies Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the forthcoming Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw. The actress took to social media to share the news with her fans and well-wishers. If reports are to be believed, Gonzalez has been paired opposite Mission: Impossible – Fallout star Vanessa Kirby in the spinoff.
The big-ticket movie, which happens to be the first spinoff in the Fast & Furious franchise, brings Johnson and Statham back in their respective roles of Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw after The Fate of the Furious. It is being helmed by popular filmmaker David Leitch, who has previously directed Deadpool 2, from a script written by Chris Morgan. The film mounted the shooting floor a couple of weeks ago. Gonzalez will join the cast on sets very soon.
The spinoff is bankrolled by Johnson with his Seven Bucks Productions partners, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, along with Statham and Morgan. The movie is executive-produced by Ainsley Davies, Kelly McCormick, Amanda Lewis, Steve Chasman and Ethan Smith.
Besides Eiza Gonzalez, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, Hobbs and Shaw also have a long list of other talented actors in its star cast. Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, and Eddie Marsan have been offered pivotal roles in the movie. Though we do not know anything about the storyline of the movie as of now, some reports claim that Idris Elba has been roped into essay the character of the main villain.
Meanwhile, Gonzalez is in the middle of shooting Godzilla vs. Kong. She is looking forward to the release of her next flicks Welcome to Marwen, Paradise Hills, Bloodshot, and Alita: Battle Angel.
