Drake Organizes The Ultimate 'Degrassi' Reunion For 'I'm Upset' Video
Eleven years after his last appearance on the Canadian TV show “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” Drake pulled out all the stops by inviting his former co-stars to be part of his newest music video. The clip, which will serve as the promotional vehicle for his single “I’m Upset,” showed a total of 19 alumni of the popular series.
The music video saw Drake and the other former cast members of the show come together in a class reunion. Everyone is having fun as they are dancing and partying in the halls. Overall, the video presents a nostalgic view of the series due to the references like the same title sequence style. The “Degrassi” alumni who were part of the video include Christina Schmidt, Cassie Steele, Linlyn Lue, Ephram Ellis, Shane Kippel and Stefan Brogren, according to TV Line.
Arguably the most recognizable people of the “Degrassi” alumni present are Nina Dobrev and Jake Epstein. Dobrev became a star when she played the dual roles of Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in “The Vampire Diaries” for eight seasons. Epstein, on the other hand, appeared on major arcs in “Designated Survivor” and “Suits,” while working on multiple Broadway projects.
Apart from the “Degrassi” stars, Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith also made cameo appearances in the video. They played Jay and Silent Bob, who both supply weed to the principal in the clip.
“I’m Upset” is one of the songs in Drake’s upcoming studio album “Scorpion,” according to the Rolling Stone. It is confirmed for release on Friday, June 29.
