DJI Phantom 5: Minimal Design Upgrades, Better Performance Than DJI Mavic 2 Zoom?
It looks like we will be seeing the DJI Phantom 5 sooner than we previously thought. The Chinese drone manufacturer just recently released the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and Pro and it seems that the new device will take some inspiration from it.
Subtle exterior changes, better performance for DJI Phantom 5?
Recent leaks indicate that DJI will concentrate on working on the performance of the next entry in the Phantom drone. Three new leaks, which a few have assumed to be prototype models of the upcoming drone product, show a closer look at the potential camera assembly and aircraft of the next Phantom, according to Drone DJ.
Anyone who has used or is familiar with the DJI Phantom 4 Pro would say that the prototype models look too similar. In fact, the only major difference when it comes to the design is the color. Almost every part, from the styrofoam case to the batteries looks pretty much same.
It is possible that DJI will invest on performance updates instead. What it lacks in major design upgrades, it could make up with its gorgeous camera system. While the leaks make no mention of the specs, there are reports that the Phantom could have 15, 24, 35 and 50mm lenses.
The DJI Phantom 5 will definitely earn a lot of comparisons to the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. As one of the latest releases of the Chinese company, the Zoom is the benchmark by which the Phantom 5 will be assessed. Just like the Phantom 5, it exhibited minor design changes and major performance enhancements, according to Digital Trends. Could the Phantom 5 be better than the Zoom? We will have to wait and see.
