DJI Phantom 5: Is It Coming In 2019?
Hello, drone fans, it’s been a while since we’ve published an article regarding the DJI Phantom 5. For this article, we’ll be looking at when the DJI Phantom 5 will be released in 2019 given that it wasn’t released last year and the surrounding rumors about it.
So When Is It Coming?
According to the folks over at DroneDJ, they don’t expect the DJI Phantom 5 to be released in Q1 2019. If DJI will decide to release the said drone, then it could probably be in late April or May.
The thing is, looking at past reports, according to an article, the DJI Phantom 5 was rumored to be released on April 15, 2018. This is probably one of the reasons why DroneDJ speculated a late April or May 2019 launch date. Who knows.
We’ve also checked some of DJI’s official Twitter accounts that we, 73Buzz, are aware of: (@DJIEnterprise and @DJIGlobal). So far the company has been radio silence about the DJI Phantom 5.
For the @DJIEnterprise Twitter account, it seems to be pretty active as it constantly tweeting. Meanwhile, for the @DJIGlobal, the same can be said as well.
Nevertheless, given that we’re now in March and assuming that DJI will be hosting an event on April, we’ll probably hear some new rumors about the DJI Phantom 5, or some new drone or gadget from the company sooner or later. If that doesn’t happen, well, no choice but to continue the waiting game.
The line between rumored features and wishlist has become blurry for the DJI Phantom 5 that it’s hard to tell them apart already. With that being said, here are the rumored features or wishlist for the said drone:
- Redesigned body, but still recognizable as a DJI Phantom Drone
- Obstacle avoidance, capable of covering all six sides of the drone
- Hasselblad-branded 1-inch sensor and 3x optical zoom
- It will supposedly have a top speed of 55 mph (88 kph)
Do you think the DJI Phantom 5 will be released this year? If yes, when will that be? Tell us in the comment section below.
