DJI Osmo Pocket Is Coming Instead of DJI Phantom 5? Find Out More Details
The top drone maker DJI just sent invites last week to their “Because Life is Big” event in New York on November 28, which is this upcoming Wednesday. Many speculated that the event is pointing towards the arrival of the highly anticipated DJI Phantom 5. However, newly leaked video and photos just surfaced online ahead of the event.
According to DroneDJ, these photos and video appear to be an exciting, gimbal-stabilized pocket camera called the DJI Osmo Pocket. It showed the actual packaging of the new handheld camera and gimbal. These will likely tell us that the new Phantom 5 will not be launched this week. Even if there are many leaked images, there is still no official information on the actual device.
In the photography department, the DJI Osmo Pocket has a built-in camera that looks similar to the one of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, but its lens seems different from it. The drone’s size is smaller to the DJI Osmo Mobile 2. Hasselblad logo is not displayed. However, the DJI logo, an LED indicator light, a display, two buttons for possibly recording, and an area to attach accessories are seen at the front of the drone.

The second leaked photo showed the backside of the upcoming drone’s packaging. The drone will come with a Lithium-Polymer 875mAh 7.7V battery, the S/N, EAN and UPC barcodes and numbers. This drone is compatible with lightning or USB-C smartphones and all the recent iPhone models. The DJI MIMO app is built-in with this drone and can be downloaded from the Google Play store and Apple App Store.

Also, SZ DJI Osmo Technology manufactured this drone in Shenzhen, China. The drone company is expected to price the upcoming drone something below the $400 GoPro Hero 7. This indicates that the company will make sure a lot of people will be happy this coming holiday season.
