DJI Mavic Pro II: 7 Features Based on Recent Leaked Photo
As the release of the DJI Mavic Pro II (2) nears, more details about the exciting new drone are making its way to the Internet. Just a few days ago, a leaked photo stirred excitement among drone fans as it is the first credible image of the upcoming release.
DJI Mavic Pro II potential features
The leaked photos have not been confirmed by DJI. That, however, does not mean that they are not credible. These are among the features that eagle-eyed drone fans have pointed out based on the leaks, according to Drone DJ:
Two different sensor sizes
The leaked photos of Mavic Pro 2 seem to tease different sensor sizes. The first one, which may be the 1-inch sensor, is mounted on the drone in gray. The other one, meanwhile, looks like a 1/1.7 sensor. The latter is located on the table and could be the one that will help “See the Bigger Picture” as the teaser to the Mavic Pro II says.
Improved form factor
As expected, the DJI Mavic Pro II will have a gorgeous but practical design. It is much more aerodynamic than its predecessor, with a sleek form that balances style and function. It also has pretty much the same shape, folding mechanism and color as the previous Mavic Pro so it will be easily identified. In fact, it is much closer in form to the Mavic than the more recent Mavic Air.
The Mavic Pro 2 is going to be more powerful. This is due to the larger motors.
Mavic 2 label
One of the most interesting things about the leaked photos is the Mavic 2 label on the drone. While this could not mean anything, other people have pointed out that this particular release will not be for the DJI Mavic Pro II.
No ‘quiet’ propellers
Fans of the ‘quiet’ propellers that were in the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum will be disappointed with this new drone. The Mavic Pro II will instead get the usual propellers.
The Mavic Pro II may get a feature from the GoPro Karma: the removable gimbal. The picture shows that the gimbal can be used separately and with the drone. On the left side of the picture, you can see the second gimbal with a smaller camera/sensor size and screen. A lighting connection is also shown.
The photos that leaked of the DJI Mavic Pro 2 do not show the rear legs. But it seems to suggest that the front legs can fold sideways. This would be a feature that will be carried over from the original Mavic Pro.
Postponed Mavic Pro 2 event
In related DJI news, it looks like a July 18 company event has been postponed indefinitely, according to CNet. This previously announced event is said to be where DJI will unveil and launch the Mavic Pro 2 officially. The media invitation to the event made a stir on social media as it hinted that the drone will get a 360-degree camera feature
