DJI’s long-awaited Mavic 2 series is finally available and they’re offering it in two versions: ‘Pro’ and ‘Zoom’.  But for this article, we’ll be focusing on the Mavic 2 Pro and see why it’s such a beast.

How Much Does It Cost?

For a powerful device, it also comes with a hefty price tag which sits at $1,499. This is $500 more compared to this predecessor, the Mavic Pro.

What Makes It A Beast?

For people who are looking for great camera performance, then Mavic 2 Pro is the perfect candidate, thanks to its gimbal-stabilized Hasselblad camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor for stunning aerial 4K video and photos. In fact, it is also capable of performing way better compared to its predecessor in dim environments.

Specs/Features

DJI has released an article regarding the official specs and features of the Mavic 2 Pro. According to the article, it has:

  • Weight = 907g
  • Image Sensor = 1 inch
  • Image Resolution = 20 MP
  • Max video bit rate = 100 Mbps
  • Flight time = 31 minutes
  • ISO range = 100 to 12800
  • Color profile = over 1 billion colors
  • Enhanced HDR photo = 14 EV
  • Hyperlapse
  • Max Speed = 72kmph
  • Max transmission distance = 8km

One very interesting feature that’s worth noting is its “Hyperlapse” feature. With this, it is capable of shooting videos in various flight modes and processes them automatically into moving time-lapse videos.

Another is that it comes with APAS (Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems) support. This allows it to automatically avoid obstacles in its flight path.

The Two Things That People May Hate About It

Of course, there is no such thing as a “perfect device”. Just like any other device, this drone also has its own flaws. Right now, there are only two things that customers may not like about this device. One is its price tag, while the other is that it can’t shoot videos 4k videos at 60fps.

Will there be more issues revealed in the future by its customers? Well, it’s hard to say with full accuracy. Only time can tell.

So, are you interested in buying the Mavic 2 Pro? We would like to hear your thoughts and opinions about it in the comment section below.
