DJI Insists Recent Leaks Not Of DJI Phantom 5
In the past few weeks, we have been seeing a lot of leaks and reports with regards to the DJI Phantom 5. It was incredibly timely as the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and Pro just recently arrived at retailers, which would enable the Phantom device to receive media spotlight.
Leaked images not related to DJI Phantom 5
However, DJI has issued a statement saying that the recent leaks that have been referenced as prototypes of the Phantom 5 are not how it will actually look like. In fact, there is a possibility that the drone has not even finished development and testing yet.
The leaked pictures of a model are said to be a picture of a one-off for a customer, according to Drone DJ. But, the fact that the company would spend money to develop a new drone with an interchangeable lens system for one person is just not normal. If the DJI Phantom 5 receives the same settings and features, it would make a compelling case to choose the upcoming drone over the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and Pro.
Mavic 2’s positive reception
The bar that the Phantom 5 has to reach is incredibly high after the two Mavic drones received overwhelmingly positive reception from both critics and users. The two Mavic drones do not look that much different from their direct predecessor, according to Gizmodo. But they do offer major performance enhancements that enable users to take photos and record videos effectively.
The cameras of the two drones alone are a big upgrade. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro uses a Hasselblad camera that has a one-inch CMOS sensor while the Zoom has the power to take 4x digital zoom.
