DJI Fails To Deliver Promised Thermal Camera For Mavic 2 Enterprise, Fans Are Not Happy
Chinese tech company DJI was supposed to introduce this thermal camera for the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise yesterday. However, the day has already passed yet there are still no signs of it. What’s happening?
Last week, DJI made an announced on their official Twitter account. The company hinted that a new DJI product is coming on 17 December 2018 – 9:00 am ET and it’s going to be hot.
Although the announcement didn’t say what the new DJI product is, Twitter users speculate that it could be a thermal camera or something related to that. DroneDJ even reports it’s a thermal camera for the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise.
The Failed Tease…
Given that DJI failed to deliver on the promised date, the company posted another tweet. This is what they had to say:
It seems that the Chinese company decided to delay the product over the holidays. As for the “Watch this space” message, we (73buzz) aren’t sure what this means. But hey, if you, our dear readers, have any idea, drop us a comment down below.
So how did fans take this announcement? Well, as you may have already guessed, it didn’t sit well with the fans. Here are some of the comments:
“So no news today? That would be so very DJI style. Let the users wait… and wait…” – Simon (@SimK172)
“Hey thanks DJI for the let down. Yet one more reason why we’re looking for an alternative.” – Joe (@Joe43029962)
“Why do you do that. Announcement, then delay” – DRONE4SAR (@MccourtWayne)
“This is very annoying and a slap in the face to all @DJIGlobal fans.” – Kobi Shmueli (@Kobi_S)
What’s Up With These Delays?
DroneDJ tried contacting DJI to ask about what’s causing the delay. So far, the company hasn’t replied yet.
But does this really come as a surprise? Even the introduction of the Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom drones was also delayed – that was the “See The Bigger Picture” event which was originally scheduled for July 18 and then moved to August 23.
