The makers of the upcoming Hollywood venture Die Hard 6, which happens to be the next installment in the Die Hard series, have opted for a new title for the movie. When the project was launched, its working title was Die Hard: Year One, but now the title has been changed from Die Hard: Year One to McClane.

Yes, the latest action flick of talented actor Bruce Willis will now be called McClane. As per reports published on various entertainment websites, the actioner will follow both the present-day John McClane in his 60s and a younger, 20-something McClane.

“You can tell our intention by the fact that the title page we handed in says, McClane,” says producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. “We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version.”

Speculations were been rife of late that the latest part in the Die Hard franchise i.e. Die Hard 6 would be a prequel with a new actor getting into the shoes of Willis to play bad-luck cop, John McClane. Buzz also had it that original star Bruce Willis’ role would be relegated to an extended cameo. However, di Bonaventura rubbishes such rumors adding that Willis and the yet-to-be-cast younger actor will get the same amount of screen time in the forthcoming installment of the franchise.

The first movie in the Die Hard franchise made its entry into cinemas in 1988 and was an instant hit at the box-office, establishing Willis’ John McClane as a pop culture icon. The second last film in the series hit the screen in 2007. Titled Live Free Or Die Hard, the movie broke several records and went on to gross approximately $383 million worldwide. Its domestic collection stood at $134 million. The last installment arrived in 2013, titled A Good Day To Die Hard. Headlined by Willis and Jai Courtney, the fifth part made enough money for the franchise to live on.

McClane will be helmed by Len Wiseman, who also directed Live Free or Die Hard. Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes have co-written the script.
