CyDownloader App Released: Cydia Repos, Jailbreak Tweaks, Everything You Need To Know
Boris Honman has publicized and released a new desktop application that is called CyDownloader. Though this app isn’t a jailbreak tool, it lets the users browse Cydia sources and download files as needed.
CyDownloader Details and Information
CyDownloader lets the jailbreak enthusiasts browse their preferred Cydia repositories on their PC. Aside from browsing, the user can also download the .deb files utilizing this desktop application. They can also manually install the tweak on their jailbroken iOS handsets. Honman’s creation is indeed a useful tool that can make it stress-free for users to look for apps and install them in bulk.
Right now in the present jailbreaks, like Electra, for 64-bit devices running iOS 11 through iOS 11.1.2, unfortunately, do not have Cydia due to compatibility issues. This means that jailbreak aspirants need to obtain and install packages, tweaks, and extensions manually to the device.
How To Use CyDownloader
Additionally, the CyDownloader desktop app is accessible for free download and it will let users browse any Cydia repo of their choice. The owners of the iOS devices will just have to tick on the ‘Open Cydia Repository’ button and enter the URL of the repository. After the repo has been known a new window will open and it will let them browse through a list of existing tweaks or they can also search them by name. Users can also click on any tweak to recognize its name, different versions, and descriptions. They can also see the package size for each package before downloading its .deb file by ticking on the ‘Download .deb’ button.
Things To Keep In Mind About CyDownloader
The CyDownloader is a new tool and it still has minor bugs that must be fixed. When the CyDownloader was tested, it was not able to load all repos together with BigBoss repository. Luckily, the developer of the app has promised a fix it soon. If the jailbreak users or iOS devices are interested in trying this tool out, then they can see it in action by heading to developer Ryan Petrich’s repo on it i.e. ‘http://rpetri.ch/repo/’. Users can download the CyDownloader app for Mac or Windows here.
