CoolStar, the famous developer of Electra Jailbreak tool, has announced that version 1.1 of the Electra jailbreak IPA is “coming soon.” Electra is presently the only feasible jailbreak tool for apple devices running on iOS 11 through to iOS 11.1.2 firmware. The jailbreak has been continuously updated by the developer over the last few months.

Latest news claims that, in the next few days you will get the latest Electra jailbreak 1.1 update. It should be noted that you will not get the official Saurik substrate in the upcoming version as both are “unconnected.”

As per the developer’s announcement, Electra 1.1 update will ship with a of significant enhancements that will increase what Electra is currently capable of as well as hopefully bring additional stability to the jailbreak tool. However, there is no official changelog revealed as of writing this article as the IPA hasn’t been launched to CoolStar’s Electra website but we can overview of the upcoming changes from the official announcement by CoolStar:

Expect Electra 1.1 to come soon, which will allow binaries without platform-application entitlement to launch properly [patch thanks to Meridian team] (and will fix up certain older packages not working, as long as they were built with 64 bit binaries).

The one major improvement in the upcoming 1.1 Electra jailbreak will include a fix to ensure that older packages which weren’t previously playing fine with Electra will now do so. The said package will need to have been built with a 64-bit slice included otherwise it wouldn’t be compatible with iOS 11 and the 64-bit devices that it runs on, which means Electra could do nothing with it.

Version 1.1 of Electra jailbreak tool will be yet another release on the jailbreak app’s roadmap till date. When Electra was first launched, it was unclear if it was simply an effort to get something out there built on-top of the async_wake exploit launched by Ian Beer of Google’s Project Zero.

There is no official launch date for the Electra jailbreak 1.1 yet; CoolStar has just announced that it will “come soon”.  We will keep you updated on further announcement or release about iOS 11 jailbreak, so stay tuned with us.
