Brie Larson Bags Netflix Film ‘I’m Thinking Of Ending Things’
Academy award-winning actress Brie Larson, known for her sterling performances in such successful films as Hoot (2006), 21 Jump Street (2012), The Spectacular Now (2013) and Room (2015), is teaming up with filmmaker Charlie Kaufman for the film I’m Thinking of Ending Things. Kaufman is making this film for streaming media giant Netflix, and apart from calling the shots for it, he will also write the screenplay.
For the uninitiated, I’m Thinking of Ending Things is based on the 2016 novel by Iain Reid, which revolves around a man named Jake and his girlfriend Larson. They go on a road trip to meet the former’s parents at their sequestered farm. However, things go awry when Larson, who is thinking of breaking up with her boyfriend, ends up being stranded at a deserted high school. Terrified, she wanders sprawling halls of the school. Soon she begins to deteriorate psychologically and wonders if she can escape, or if she should just go ahead and end things before she gets any worse.
It will not be the first time when Brie Larson stars in a movie which revolves around a rather psychologically dark premise. She awed everyone with her immaculate performance in the kidnapping drama Room and went on to bag the Academy Award for Best Actress for the same.
Kaufman, Anthony Bregman, and Stefanie Azpiazu have collaborated to produce I’m Thinking of Ending Things. The makers are expected to lock the rest of the cast soon. They are planning to start rolling the camera in the next few months.
Meanwhile, Larson is gearing up for her next MCU film Captain Marvel, wherein she plays Carol Danvers. She will follow it up with Avengers 4, wherein she reprises her superhero role. The actress will return to big screen in early 2020 with a powerful role in the courtroom drama Just Mercy. Looks like a lot of stuff is there on her platter at the moment!
