Despite a slew of rumours that original hero of the series Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) might exit the show, nothing has dissipated the excitement of audiences for the hotly anticipated forthcoming season of The Walking Dead. TWD 9 of the series is just a month away from its grand premiere, but even thirty days seem hard to pass for the diehard fans of the zombie apocalypse series. Looks like the makers also understand how fans are growing impatience to catch the first glimpse of the latest season, and hence they have just dropped a couple of new photographs from the forthcoming first episode of the series.

The Walking Dead season 9 is going to take a considerable time leap is something which the makers have already revealed and the same can be gauged by the images that have just been unveiled. We can see loads of changes in terms of certain characters’ looks and personality. For example, Rosita is going to sport a new hairstyle. Gabriel is going to be shown as blind in at least one eye. These are some so conspicuous changes that we cannot ignore in the pictures, but the most obvious example to see is Rick. Over the course of time and through various seasons of The Walking Dead, the hair on his head has begun to join his beard.

What we missed most in the newly released photograph is the absence of Jeffrey Dean Morgan. But that does not make much of a difference because we know how vast the canvas of the show is. In that sense, it’s not necessary that all important characters put up an appearance in the first few episodes of the series. They can entertain us in other episodes.

In another exciting development, the makers of The Walking Dead have roped in a major comic book character for the latest season. According to a premier Hollywood entertainment website, actress Cassady McClincy has been finalized to play the daughter of Alpha, Lydia. McClincy’s previous acting credits include Love, Simon, Netflix Original Ozark, Constantine and Hulu’s Castle Rock.
