There are only a few actors in Indian cinema who enjoy the kind of popularity South superstar Prabhas has garnered in all nooks and corners of the world. Before the release of his S.S Rajamouli directed film Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), he was just another Indian actor working in South Indian films, but the earth-shattering success of Baahubali: The Beginning made him an overnight star. Prabhas followed the unbelievable success of the war drama with its second installment, Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), which catapulted him to international fame.

It has been almost one and a half year since Prabhas’ fans have not seen him on celluloid. His next film after the Baahubali series is Saaho which was initially scheduled to hit screens in 2018. But since the action entertainer is being made on a huge scale and involves hundreds of artists from all over the world, the movie could not wrap up on time and has faced several delays in the past one year. However, now the shooting of Saaho is progressing at a brisk pace and the makers have blocked a date for its theatrical release.

Helmed by well-known South Indian filmmaker Sujeeth, Saaho will hit the silver screen on Independence Day on August 15 next year. Besides Prabhas, the movie also stars Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor. Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mandira Bedi, Chunky Pandey, Mahesh Manjrekar, Arun Vijay and Murali Sharma will be seen in support cast. The multilingual film is being shot in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu simultaneously.

Award-winning music composers Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have scored music for the film with lyrics provided by renowned lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya. Bankrolled by UV Creations, Saaho will be presented by T-Series, while its Hindi distribution is being taken care of by AA Films. The film will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal and John Abraham’s Batla House on 15th August 2019.
