Autel Evo Is All Set To Fly And Compete With Mavic Pro This June
The US drone maker Autel Robotics has announced to the drone community the new face of the remote-controlled device that is set to challenge DJI Mavic Pro, the Autel EVO. The new drone is set to hit the stores in the coming weeks.
Publicly introduced in Las Vegas at the CES event earlier this year and scheduled to be in the market at the end of June. The EVO made noises to its patron and drone enthusiasts enough to make everyone excited about the release of the product. You can check the Autel EVO video from YouTube that was launched at the same time as the event.
In a press statement released for the EVO’s announcement in January, the company stated that “We’ve been both humbled and honored by the overwhelmingly positive response to our announcement of the EVO”. They also added that “We realize that a big part of meeting our delivery goals for our customers is refining our messaging to ensure that we can always do what we say we will do.”
The statement was made as a thank you message for the hype that was produced during the unveiling of the new model. They made some notable improvements and delivered at a high pace that the consumers really welcomed warmly.
The Autel EVO features a lot, offering a 4k UHD camera that is mounted on a 3-axis gimbal for extra maneuverability of the camera that will allow new angles to work on. The new model will also have advanced sensors that will be used for Obstacle Avoidance System and will make full use of autonomous flight modes.
Another good thing about the EVO is the battery that boasts a 4300 mAh Li-po Battery capacity that can juice up the drone for around 30 minutes. The battery only needs 1.3 hours of recharge time for it to hit the skies again.
The full technical features of the Autel EVO is listed below:
- 4K UHD 60FPS camera equipped on a 3-axis gimbal
- 3.3 Inch built-in OLED screen remote controller with 720p live video
- 30-minute flight time
- Front & Downward (Computer Vision) and Rear (IR Sensor) Obstacle Avoidance Systems
- 4300 mAh Li-Po Battery, 1.3 hour recharge time
- Speeds up to 20 meters per second
- 7km (4.2 mi) Range
- Autel Explorer app allowing for intelligent flight features & more
This floatable beast is very pleasing to the eyes with a combination of good aesthetics and nice technology. Currently, the EVO seems to be within the same league as the DJI Mavic Pro in some areas but excels in the frame speed of the camera.
120 frames per second at 1080P is a lot compared to the rival, Mavic Pro which only scored 96. On the 4k category, the EVO is well ahead by getting 60 frames per second against 30 frames per second by the same drone. This clearly indicates how good the camera is in EVO than its competitor.
The possibility of a lone model option when it hits the store is possible. Autel Robotics is specified that the foldable quadcopter named EVO will be priced in the market at around $999 which is around the same price tag as their rival DJI Mavic Pro.
