Apple’s Mac Mini 2018 or Mac Mini 2 Could Be Mac Mini Pro, Coming This October Event?
The tech giant Apple is holding the second fall 2018 event on October 30 in Brooklyn, New York. The company is expected to talk about a new iPad Pro 3 and MacBook. There is another device that needs some attention because it is slower than other Apple’s desktop computers like the iMac and the Mac Pro. This entry-level desktop Mac is the Mac mini.
According to Macworld, the company just listed eight new desktop computers in the Eurasian Economic Commission filing. Three of these computers were new. In the listing, the unfamiliar models A1993, A2115, and A2116 could be the new Macs. However, it is still unclear if they are iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, or iMac Pro.
If reports are true and the company will revamp the Mac mini 2 or Mac mini 2018 into a Mac mini Pro model, the device will target mainly at professionals who want to keep their display and accessories but a shift for a higher-power model. It will come with more business-friendly features and will likely be priced higher than the current $500 Mac mini.
In terms of specification, all the three models will have dual-core Core i5 central processing unit (CPU). The first model will cost $499 with 1.4GHz CPU, 4GB storage, 500GB hard drive, and Intel HD Graphics 5000 graphics processing unit (GPU). The second model will cost $699 with 2.6GHz CPU, 8GB storage, 1TB hard drive, and Intel Iris Graphics. The third model will cost $999 with 2.8GHz CPU, 8GB storage, 1TB Fusion Drive, and Intel Iris Graphics.
Mac mini 2018 or Mac mini 2 will not come with a display, keyboard, or mouse. It also lacks an external USB optical drive, so you will need to provide your own. Bloomberg reported that the device could release before the end of 2018. It is a great choice for someone who wants a second computer in their home because it handles daily usage well.
