Apple Watch Series 4 vs Google Pixel Watch: Which Is Better?
Apple and Google are expected to release brand new smartwatches this year; Apple Watch Series 4 and Google Pixel Watch. Given that these smartwatches will be from two well-known tech companies, tech enthusiasts are wondering which smartwatch brand will be better. Well, let’s review the things that we know about them, shall we?
The Release Date
Back in May, well-known leakster Evan Blass went to Twitter to announce that there will be a Pixel-branded watch coming. He noted that the information came from a “reliable source” with “high confidence”.
So when is it expected to be released? Well, initially, people were hoping the device to at least be mentioned during the three days annual I/O conference back in May. Right now, reports are expecting Pixel Watch to be announced in October alongside its Pixel phones. In fact, Blass even insisted that a “hardware event” will take place towards the end of the year where it could be announced.
For the Apple Watch Series 4, it is expected to be announced in September along with the new iPhone models. It is also expected to be made available in the same month.
Google Pixel Watch Specs/Features
According to reports, there will be three variants codenamed “Ling”, “Triton” and “Sardine” which could differ in terms of size and features. These variants are expected to feature:
- Google Assistant
- Packed with the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip from Qualcomm which uses ARM Cortex A7 architecture and has an Adreno 304 GPU.
- Extended battery life thanks to its chip.
- Improved health and fitness tracking.
- It could be used to replace passwords, acting like a physical security key.
- It will have a stylish design.
Apple Watch Series 4 Specs/Features
Based on previous reports, there will be 2 variants: 40 mm and 45 mm. Regarding its display, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that it will be 15 percent bigger than the current models. In addition to that, he also said that will have improved health monitoring capabilities and longer battery life.
The Apple Watch Series 4 is also said to have touch-sensitive buttons on the sides and haptic feedback instead of physical equivalents. Furthermore, it will feature solid-state buttons which in return will make the device more water-resistant and will also give it more space to pack a larger battery.
