Apple Pencil 2 To Release At Apple's Education-Focused Event On March 27
Apple might be preparing to release a new product in the coming weeks. The company is rumored to update the Apple Pencil and launch its successor Apple Pencil 2.
Apple has already sent out an invitation to an education-focused event on March 27, which will schedule to happen in Chicago. The invite, titled “Let’s take a field trip,” provides few details. The invite features a simple Apple illustration, which seems as if it was drawn by pencil. The drawing itself may be a nod to the Apple Pencil accessory, which is being used with the iPad Pro.
In the absence of any concrete information to work with, we might try over-analyzing the invite logo that you can see in the picture. The logo definitely has the air of an Apple Pencil drawing, so this might back up the iPad theory. Based on a recent patent leak from February, Apple may be planning to launch Apple Pencil 2 that works on any surface, and can even write on non-touch surfaces.
On the other hand, iMore’s Serenity Caldwell offers some good hints for the upcoming Apple Pencil 2, including integration of Apple’s W1 or W2 chips for improved pairing. It is also reported that upcoming Apple Pencil 2 might boast the wireless charging and multiple nib options both for improved friction and design.
Some reports claim that a new Pencil would probably be announced with a new iPad Pro at an event like WWDC. But it’s simple to see how Apple Pencil 2 could be great in the classroom.
