Apple MacBook Air 2018: What Will It Look Like?
This month, tech enthusiasts are expecting Apple to hold a press event for a number of highly anticipated tech devices. Among those devices is the MacBook Air 2018.
When Is It Coming?
The Cupertino-based tech company has been hosting an October event since 2012 but skipped 2015 and 2017. And based on the events, it could happen in the 3rd or 4th week of the month.
In the past few months, there have been a number of rumors about the specs and features of the MacBook Air 2018 to the point where it has become a bit confusing. But we’ll try to simplify it as much as possible. If we missed some, do tell us in the comment section below.
There are two rumored features that are always being mentioned by other reports. This is that the MacBook Air will have Touch ID and Retina display.
Another rumor is that a “low-cost” MacBook Air (the currently available model starts at $999) is coming and there’s a possibility that it will replace the position of the current 12-inch MacBook. However, as already mentioned on our previous report, this also provided a number of reports with conflicting theories because neither can tell with full accuracy whether the said laptop will sit alongside the 12-inch MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Air, replace one of them, or replace both of them.
Again, another rumor that we recently reported is that it will be packed with Amber Lake chips and will feature USB-C. Lastly, there was also a rumor that Apple will be launching an “ultrathin” MacBook, although we don’t know which model.
What Other Devices Can We Expect?
Aside from the MacBook Air 2018, tech enthusiasts are also expecting two other devices as well.
Firstly, we have the iPad Pro 3 which is said to come in two variants just like last year’s models: 12.9 inches and 10.5 inches. They are rumored to come with Face ID, 4K display, USB-C, all-screen design with no notch, armed with an A12X Bionic processor, and no headphone jack.
The other device is the Mac Mini Pro 2018. It is said to feature an improved processor (presumably Intel’s 8thgen U-Series Intel Core CPU) and more plentiful storage options. In addition to this, there’s also a rumor that it will be larger in terms of design.
