Apple’s iPhone 7 is The New iPhone SE? Find Out Why and All Details
The tech giant Apple has dropped the iPhone SE from its fall 2018 smartphone lineup at its hardware event today in Cupertino, California. There had been reports for months that the company might be updating its budget 4-inch handset sometime this year with a new design and display.
According to Macworld, this plan seemed to be scrapped out because the phone is no longer seen on the company’s website. If you try to click on the previous page where the said handset is, you will be redirected to the general iPhone page. All information about the device has been removed and changed to the two-year-old iPhone 7.
The iPhone 7 now has a starting price of $449 with a 4.7-inch display and 32GB in color options like silver, black, gold, and rose gold. This price is $100 more than the original iPhone SE costing $349. Even if this device is more expensive, you will certainly get more features.
In terms of specification, the screen of this device is bigger. The A10 Fusion chipset is new and more powerful than A9. This device boasts the IP67 water resistance and a barometer. In the photography department, the rear camera is becoming better with the optical image stabilization technology. The selfie camera on the front is 7 megapixels, which is better than the 1.2-megapixel version of the original.
The 3.5millimeter headphone jack is no longer present in the device because the company has stopped selling the iPhone 6s as well as the headphone jack in any smartphone lineup. However, the company included a pair of Lightning EarPods in the box when you purchase this device.
Even if there are only a few people who are willing to buy the iPhone SE, this device still has an important purpose. There are still people who preferred to have an entry-level phone because they cannot afford to purchase a new phone with a price of more than a thousand dollars. A lot of users hate big phones and would rather keep their tiny screens.
