One of the highly anticipated devices this year was the AirPods 2. Although recent reports have been suggesting that it is slated to come next year, there were reports claiming that it will be featured on Apple’s “Gather Round” event.

So, was it presented in the said event? According to a report, there was no mention of the updated AirPods on stage during the unveiling of its devices. However, the Cupertino-based tech company did demonstrate one of the features of the said device on its event intro video.

The Video

The video is 3 minutes and 2 seconds long and features a woman on a quest to deliver a suitcase to Apple CEO Tim Cook with the Mission Impossible theme song as its background music. The “Hey Siri” moment is featured at 0:43 where she asks the virtual assistant, “Hey Siri. What’s the fastest way to Steve Jobs Theater?

In regards to features, the AirPods 2 is reportedly going to come with Siri features where users will have to tap on the device to or just say the magic words “Hey Siri” to activate the virtual assistant. Aside from that, it is also said to feature noise cancellation, wireless charging, water resistance, and biometric sensors for heart-rate.

So When Is It Expected To Come?

As already mentioned, recent reports have been suggesting that the AirPods 2 are expected to arrive in 2019 – presumably on March. However, if we take a look at the release date of the currently available model, it was unveiled in September of 2016 and initially scheduled to be released in late October, but was delayed and pushed to December instead.

How Much Will It Cost?

The current available model cost $159. With this, reports suggest that the successor could probably come in at the same or similar price.
