What You Should Know About The Apple TV 6 Before Its Launch Next Year
The tech giant Apple unveiled the Apple TV 4K in September 2017. Even if the product is pretty awesome, many are still looking forward to its next version, which is the sixth-generation model. The company is said to be launching it next year alongside a new video streaming service with its own TV shows and movies that will also be available on the iPhone and iPad.
According to Macworld, the company is reportedly funding the production of its own collection of TV series. These series will hopefully start streaming to its customers for free. This TV streaming service with the Apple TV 6 could launch in March 2019 based on the company’s past behavior of models coming out. For its pricing, the next generation TV will likely be priced similar to the current Apple TV 4K that is still sold for £179 for the 32GB of storage and £199 for the 64GB of internal memory.
In terms of new specifications, Apple TV 6 will have enhanced tvOS, which is the iOS version that works on it. Bluetooth headphones like the Apple AirPods could be paired with it but most likely only a few, especially if one of them is an audio accessory. Unfortunately, the virtual assistant Siri cannot be activated via the AirPods.
The facial recognition technology found in the current iPhone X could possibly come to the new TV. If true, once the new TV recognizes and sees you, it could automatically pull up your specific preferences like for music, TV channels, etc. The HomeKit could also be integrated into your IoT devices for heating and lighting. Overall, this new product will provide seamless user profiles. Also, Apple TV 6 could compete with the Amazon’s Fire Stick and Google Chromecast if the company offers an affordable TV dongle to reach out to the masses.
