New rumor emerges around the community suggesting that the fabled Grand Theft Auto 6 will be delayed because of budget allocations and other stuff. Let’s dig up all of the latest details, news, and rumors surrounding the most awaited game of the modern era.

Grand Theft Auto is one of the most successful franchises from Rockstar and with GTA V running the show for more than 5 years now, fans are looking forward to the next GTA installment. The game also brought a huge sum of money to the company thanks to its record-breaking sales worldwide.

The massive success of the 5th installment provided Rockstar the best-selling entertainment product in history. According to MarketWatch, the franchise already sold 90 million copies of the game and got a whopping $6 billion in revenue.

According to some accounts, during the development of GTA V, Rockstar is rumored to have given almost $250 million budget. With the amount of success that the game carried, the company might double the figure to almost $500 million budget for the next generation GTA 6 title.

The big reason why there’s a huge jump for the budget is the talks of incorporating virtual reality content or VR to the game. Another plausible reason is the game is not intended for the current generation console, but for the next breeds of Xbox and PlayStation that might come out in 2020 to 2022.

The huge sum of budget amounting to $500 million is said to be causing some issues. First, the bar that was set by GTA V was very high and second, pointing to the possibility that 90 billion of copies sold by the current franchise might be a very optimistic figure as a target. Although it is plausible, it would be very hard to repeat the same success for the same franchise.

Outside the budget concerns, another reason for the delay might point to the current game by Rockstar that is scheduled for release this October. The game called Red Dead Redemption 2 is another game from the company and the maintenance of both the GTA online servers and their new Red Dead Redemption 2 will take a lot of time. Thus, affecting the productivity of the GTA 6 development.

Rockstar knows that releasing GTA 6 a few years behind RDR 2 will not be healthy. Obviously, they will not challenge their own game and will likely to focus more on RDR 2 until the time is right to unleash their newest game.

The biggest issue behind the concern is the fact that Rockstar still not made any significant statements and news about their plan for the GTA franchise especially GTA VI. As we all know, the company is known to be very conservative when it comes to information about their new projects and the development of GTA 6 is no exception. Although we know that the game will go to the development state or might be on that platform right now, the company is doing a good job keeping the goods until the right time.

Just like what we saw in their upcoming release of Red Dead Redemption 2, official statements only came up only a few weeks before the official announcement of the game. With this in mind, we can expect that rumors will fly targeting GTA 6. Since this is one of the most anticipated games of all time, all news and rumors will be significant to all GTA fans out there.
