Here's How The 2019 iPhone Will Compete With The Pixel 3 and Pixel 4 Cameras
In today’s modern era of smartphones, one of the main features that people look for on a phone is the camera specs and features which make sense given the ever-popular selfie culture. And when it comes to smartphone cameras, one of the most popular smartphone brands that come to mind would be the Pixel phones, especially when comes to camera performance on low light conditions.
Speaking of camera smartphones, Jason Snell of MacWorld shared his opinions on how Apple’s 2019 iPhone could counter the Google Pixel camera, specifically the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. So how will the Cupertino-based company achieve that?
Triple Rear Camera Setup
The currently available Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL came with a dual front camera (8MP + 8MP) and a 12.2MP rear camera. But for the upcoming iPhone XI (aka iPhone 11), it is reportedly going to feature a 10MP front camera and a triple rear camera setup (10MP + 14MP + ??) – the third lens is speculated to be a 3D camera.
The second aspect that the iPhone XI could counter the Pixel phones according to Snell is software.
Google uses Night Sight which enables their Pixel phones to get shockingly clear photos out of relatively dark spaces. Apple, on the other hand, has Smart HDR which has no user interface but dramatically improves the dynamic range of images. Presumably, Apple could perhaps take the 2019 iPhone’s smartphone photography software to the next level.
But What About The Google Pixel 4 Cameras?
If we’re going to believe the Google mobile patent spotted a few days ago is indeed the Pixel 4, then the said handset will be featuring a single rear camera.
What about the front camera? Well, as we noted on our previous report, there was no mention of the front camera. In fact, KnowYourMobile noted that there was no sign of a “hole punch” design in the screen and it doesn’t appear to have a slide-out camera either, which is hard to believe given the selfie culture in today’s society.
Do you think the iPhone XI will be able to counter Google’s Pixel 3 and 3 XL’s cameras? Also, what camera setup do you think the Pixel 4 will have? Tell us in the comment section below.
