2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards: Most Memorable Moments Of SAG 2018
The night of 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards was filled with many memorable moments. It had some great speeches, celeb appearances, performances and more. From Kristen Bell hosting the show to Gary Oldman winning the best male actor award, this year’s SAG awards have loads to cherish about. Check out some of the most memorable moments of 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards:
- Actress Kristen Bell made an epic opening by taking a dig at Melania Trump. She said, “There has never been a host for this awards before. First time. First person. First LADY! I honestly never thought I would grow up to be the First Lady, but you know what, I kinda of like it. I think my first initiative as First Lady will be cyberbullying…because I have yet to see any progress on that problem yet”. Although Bell did not directly take Mrs. Trump’s name, her clean dig, however, made it all evident.
- The legend, Morgan Freeman won the Life Achievement Award at the event. He addressed Hollywood’s gender inequality issue while accepting the award. The actor explained that there are a lot of things wrong with the film industry, one of the biggest factors being gender inequality. He said, “I wasn’t going to do this; I’m going to tell you what’s wrong with this statue. It works from the back, but from the front, its gender specific. Maybe I started something.”
Other best moments:
- Margot Robbie was one of the best-dressed celebs at the event. She slipped into a beautiful, feathered ruffle, white gown that looked perfect on her.
- Nicole Kidman won the best female lead award for Big Little Lies. However, what won the audience was her acceptance speech that was filled with praises for her fellow nominees. She thanked all her female counterparts for delivering brilliant performances over the years. “I want to thank you all for the trailblazing performances you’ve given over your career and how wonderful it is that our careers can go beyond 40 years old because 20 years ago, we were pretty washed up by this stage in our lives,” she said.
