2018 Apple iPhone 6.1 and 6.5 Inches Dummy Models Spotted
One of the highly anticipated devices this year is Apple’s smartphones which is why it comes to no surprise that tech enthusiasts are always on the lookout for new details regarding the devices. This time around, images of the iPhone 11 Plus (aka 2018 iPhone X) and iPhone SE Plus (aka iPhone SE2) dummy models have been spotted online.
The images were provided by Ben Geskin (@VenyaGeskin) who is a leakster and concept designer. On his Twitter account, he posted four images featuring a 6.5-inch and 6.1 inch iPhone dummy models.
According to a report, the white variant (the 6.5 inches) is the iPhone 11 Plus. Meanwhile, the black variant (6.1 inches) is the iPhone SE Plus.

If you go search for other articles regarding the specs and features for the 2018 iPhones, you’re going to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information and be left wondering which is which. But for this article, we’re going to make it as simple as possible and may skip the ones that cited patents.
For the screen, the 6.5-inch model will feature OLED screens – 480-500 ppi (pixels per inch). Meanwhile, the 6.1-inch version will feature LCD screens – 320-330 ppi.
Speaking about LCD screens, this model is reportedly having some issues and will not be available until October. Apparently, there have been issues with LED backlight leakage.
Regarding the design, both models will feature an all-screen design, curved screens, no Home button, dual-SIM, and a notch at the top of the display. As for the differences the OLED models, it will feature a glass back (for wireless charging) and will have a gold-colored variant.
Meanwhile, the LCD models will feature a metal back which eliminates the possibility of wireless charging. It will be available in several colors which includes blue, yellow and pink.
Processor and Storage
For its processor, the 2018 iPhone models said to be packed with A12 chips. Meanwhile, for its RAM, it is reported to have 4 GB.
For its rear camera, the upcoming models are rumored to feature a triple lens camera a 3D scanner (for AR). On the front, it will feature a front-facing TrueDepth camera.
The LCD iPhone models will be powered by a 2850-2950 mAh battery, while the OLED will be powered by an L-shaped 3300-3400mAh battery.
As already mentioned, the OLED will feature wireless charging due to its glass back. Speaking of wireless charging, Apple is reportedly working on a longer-range wireless charging.
For both models, they are expected to feature fast charging. In fact, Mac World reported that according to their “exclusive sources”, the 2018 iPhones will ship with an 18-watt USB-C to Lightning fast charger.
Gigabit LTE which is a step closer to 5G, which promises download speeds of up to 1000 megabits per second. However, there’s also a possibility that it could feature 5G instead.
Regarding the other features, this year’s models will have enhanced NFC capabilities, Face ID, and Touch ID. Furthermore, there’s also a rumor that it will come with Apple Pencil support.
The Price Tag
For the price tags, we will be citing Ming-Chi Kuo’s predictions. According to Kuo, the 6.5-inch model will cost $900-$1,000, while the 6.1-inch $600-$700.
The Release Date
They are expected to be launched in September. However, there was a report claiming that there have been issues with the LCD model so it will not be available until October.
But What About The iPhone SE2 (aka iPhone SE 2)?
First, let’s talk about its release date. The last model was announced in March 2016 and was released on the same month. The following year, Apple updated it, from 16 and 64 GB memory options up to 32 and 128 GB on March 2017. However, given that it’s already July, fans are wondering where is the 2018 version or the iPhone SE2?
Right now, reports are pointing towards two possible dates. One is that it could be on September alongside the new iPhones, while the other is that it could next March. But without any official announcements from Apple, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt.
The Price Tag
What about the price? Well, a report suggested that it could cost around $450. However, the report said that this was for an iPhone SE2 that was supposed to be launched in the first half of 2018.
For iPhone SE 2 specs and features, we’ve heard a couple of rumors. For its design, it won’t be featuring a glass back (so there won’t be any wireless charging) and a headphone jack. It will come with waterproof support and will also have a notch.
Regarding its display, it will feature a 4.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels. For its processor, it will be packed with an Apple A10 Fusion.
For the memory, it will feature 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. For the camera, it will sport a 12 MP rear camera.
Regarding its battery, it will be powered by a non-removable 1750 mAh battery. As for the other features, it will come with Touch ID and Face ID.
